On 9/18/09 at 10:15 hours Ladder 1 was requested mutual aid to Vaccaro Drive in Cresskill for a CO alarm activation.  Ladder 1 was covering Cresskill during the Wildwood Convention.  While responding to Vaccaro Drive Cresskill Engine 5 observed a heavy smoke condition coming from Palisade Avenue.  While investigating, Engine 5 located a working house fire at 133 Palisade Avenue.  510 advised Ladder 1 to reroute to Palisade Avenue.  Ladder 1 arrived on scene and observed fire showing from the structure on the C, D corner.  Ladder 1's crew was requested to Vent the structure and assist the hose team.  While Cutting the roof interior fire conditions began to deteriorate rapidly and all crews were ordered to evacuate.  Shortly after evacuating there was partial roof collapse.  Crews then began an exterior attack and TFD Engine 1 was requested to respond to the scene.  After the heavy fire was knocked down crews were able to re-enter the structure and finish extinguishing the fire.  TFD units on scene were Car 1, Ladder 1 and Engine 1.  Photos courtesy of Brett Dzadik  www.brettsfirephotos.smugmug.com
