On 1/25/10 At 1230 Hours TFD Was Dispatched To 32 Hillside Avenue For a report of smoke in the basement. Enroute 510 was advised by PD units of a heavy smoke condition in the basement. 510 arrived on scene and confirmed a working basement fire. 510 then requested a F.A.S.T. TEAM from Dumont, and a Ladder Truck from Englewood to the scene and an Engine from Cresskill was requested to stand by at TFD's Firehouse. Engine 1 arrived on scene and stretched an attack line to the basement. The Fire was located inside of the Electic Panel with heavy sparks shooting out on the inside and outside of the structure. Ladder 1 And Squad 2 arrived on scene and assisted the Engine Crew in the basement and stretched a second line to the first floor. PSEG was requested to shut off the power to the residence, but due to storm emergencies they were not able to arrive on the scene for approximately 40 minutes. Until PSEG'S arrival the TFD crews with the assistance of mutual aid companies knocked down the fire around the eletric panel and contained the fire to the basement. While Enroute Cresskill Engine 5 was requested to respond to the scene with a Bergenfield Engine requested to Stand by at TFD. All fire units were clear of the scene within 2 hours. FD Units on scene were CAR 510 , CAR 511, ENGINE 1 , LADDER 1, SQUAD 2, DUMONT RESCUE 3, ENGLEWOOD TRUCK 2 AND CRESSKILL ENGINE 5.
